Climate change is the most pressing environmental issue facing the world today and we are already feeling the effects. Individuals and businesses are the end-users of most energy production, and therefore, directly or indirectly the source of most greenhouse gas emissions, via energy use, food, travel, and embodied energy in products. However, even many of those ready to act lack the skills, knowledge, support or other key component for efficient and effective emission reduction. Meanwhile, there is a strong need for volunteers to provide climate change, energy and resource efficiency outreach. The Climate™ Master programs address these needs.

  • The suite of Climate Master programs provides cost-effective, actionable education and training to help individuals, businesses, and youth reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prepare for local climate impacts.
  • These model programs are designed to be easily replicable and to motivate behavioral change among participants and their organizations and communities.
  • CLI provides technical assistance to support public and private organizations in establishing and maintaining their own Climate Master™ program.

Oregon legislators recognized the quality of, and statewide need for, our Climate Master program with the passage of the Oregon Climate Corps Act. The Act authorizes Climate Masters as the state climate change outreach program "to help Oregon residents, businesses and other entities increase their understanding of climate change, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to address the climate change challenges that Oregon faces.”
